[특별강연] Curating the Context

Curators have had increasingly to think not only of the specificities of the spaces in which they exhibit but increasingly about the context in which their projects take place. By analyzing a series of recent projects, curator Filipa Oliveira will discuss how the practice of curatorship is changing into a more critical and intervening one.

강연자 소개



Filipa Oliveira (독립 큐레이터/비평가)

Filipa Oliveira works as a freelance curator and critic since 2001. Between 2005 and 2007, co-curates with Miguel Amado the Project AC# for Arte Contempo, non-profit organization in Lisbon and the projects Zoom and 20M3 an experimental and non-commercial Project for the Galeria Carlos Carvalho, Lisbon. Together they were also responsible for the projects: “If you don’t know what the South is it’s simply because you are from the North” for “No Soul for Sale”, New York (2009); “Impossible Exchange” for Frieze Projects at Frieze Art Fair, London (2009), “On the Table” for “Curator’s Desk” at Just Madrid (2010), and “The Unsurpassable Horizon” for “No Soul for Sale”, Tate Modern (2010).
Some of her curated exhibitions include “Café Portugal”, Design Factory, Bratislava (2008), Fórum Eugénio de Almeida, Évora, (2008) and Carlos Machado Museum, Ponta Delgada (2009). From 2005 - 2009 coordinated the prize Ariane de Rothschild in Portugal and since 2007 is responsible for establishing the prize international, with its first edition having taken place at Tour et Taxis, Brussels (2008).
