<Exhibition Statement>
The
screen connecting the space and nature reminds of our lively society. The outbreak
of COVID-19 brought social and physical distance worldwide, and Art Center Nabi
intends to narrow down the distance between each one of our mind through
Desert Series(2020) by Marpi Studio at COMO&HAPPY SCREEN The
Garden of Your Mind Exhibition this April.
Desert
Series(2020) is a digital artificial ecology that the natural environment and
algorithm interact. It questions how we, as social being, shall cultivate the
world, through projecting the vital power of the nature optically on the
functional space; the structure.
The series of work greet us with different
figures in each space. COMO gives expectation to present energy to our society
through the stem movements blessing and getting ready for the beginning of the
lives greeting the spring. In HAPPY SCREEN, the kinetic sensor invites the
audience virtual desert. The structure on the screen embodying as well as
social fabric and fundament of life in the present represents the publicness of
our society, while the colorful artificial lives that freely swimming make us
think of our energetic and beautiful hopes. The work tells us the balance and
harmony in our lives, by showing the gathering of all the composition of
virtual lives such as plants, relations, spaces and all with the appearance of
the audience at once.
Vitality
and alive space are just right where we are now. The artist gives message that
the nature and life, human and technology and architecture and art are all
matter of endless social connection with coexistence and symbiosis, especially
now where the whole world is one mind. We hope to present small comfort with
reminding of what the world is composed of, as well as hoping to have the
energy back away from worries and anxiety with the power of hopeful spring.
